We specify products requirements, design and develop systems hardware and software, and produce high-quality technical documentation and user manuals. In addition, we specialize in telephone engineering and worldwide telecommunications type approvals.

Specification-writing: translation of product ideas into detailed product requirement definitions that drive the hardware and software design, and form a basis for product testing.

Electronic product design: digital design using VHDL, FPGAs and ASICs, analog and mixed-signal design, PC-based designs, embedded microprocessor-based systems, pre-testing of critical design areas using Spice simulations and rapid prototyping techniques, telephony design, PCB design supervision, schematic capture, design documentation, design reviews, BOM (Bill of Materials) preparation, man-machine interface design, costing.

Prototype production and testing: component purchasing, supervision of prototype production, integration, preparation of ATP (Acceptance Test Procedure), testing to prove design correctness and completeness, accompanying design through regulatory testing and approval procedures.

Mass production: component sourcing and purchasing, supervision of manufacturing process, development of mass production test equipment and and procedures, logistics.

Turnkey projects: any combination of above services, including complete turnkey operation from specification phase through supply of mass-produced items.

Engineering consultation: advice, troubleshooting, technical supervision and review of customer's design.

Telephone engineering: consultation, design and assistance with regulatory approval for voice, data and facsimile products that will be connected to analog telephone lines.

Technical writing: professional development of user manuals, web site content, APIs (Application Programming Interfaces) and application notes. Also editing, updating and maintaining existing documents. Hebrew/English translation.

Short-term project: consultation or design work ranging from several hours' work to a period of weeks. Examples of this kind of project are consultation meetings relating to the important factors in designing a product for connection to analog telephone lines, troubleshooting sessions in which we solve customers' design problems, and develop designs. While working on these relatively small-scale projects, the relationship with our customer often deepens, and we are then called upon to commit ourselves to providing services over a longer period.

Monthly retainer: much of our work involves a commitment to a deep long-term relationship in which Novarex provides engineering consultation and product development services, often including day-to-day presence at the customer's site. In return for our assured availability, the customer is expected to guarantee a minimum monthly number of man-hours throughout the period of work.

Profit-sharing: we are sometimes prepared to forgo a portion of our hourly tariff in return for a share in a customer's expected future profits. This applies where a long-term relationship is planned, and where we consider that the product is likely to be a financial success. The advantage to the customer lies not only in cost-savings during the product development stages, but in the added confidence that a stake in the company will guarantee a long-term commitment by Novarex.

he company's services are provided by David and Miriam Drori, who are also the company owners. In order to concentrate on our core skills and to minimize our fixed costs, we rely on a pool of outside companies and freelance engineers who assist us with software design and DSP programming, PCB artwork design and manufacture and circuit board assembly. We are always on the look-out for freelance software engineers with skills in the embedded microcontroller, DSP and Windows programming areas, who share our attitude to excellent design and documentation, and are able to meet agreed targets.
